Learner Assessment

Assessment Planning

Assessment Planning is often neglected or ignored in the instructional design process but it is probably the most important aspect. In order to ensure the right concepts are included (and not over- represented) in an assessment, designers should facilitate assessment planning immediately after learning objectives are identified.  Developing an assessment plan will ensure the most essential concepts are assessed and will ensure alignment between training and assessment.

Instructions

I created these instructions in Microsoft EXCEL to guide A professional learning community (PLVC) of Learning Champions through the assessment planning process. Click link for instructions.

This example test blueprint is an EXCEL tab that elaborates on the essential components of a test blueprint. Click link for example.

Test Blueprint

This is an actual test blueprint form for a training module for P&C Technicians.   The learning champion and trainer will use this form to design core block 2 formative assessments and promotion testing. Click link for blueprint form.

Learner Assessments

Using learning objectives, job analysis information, and policies, I create assessment items to measure learner achievement.
